We are always inspired to see what people do when they have access to technology. We know that people are changing the world through their own creativity and passion and that sometimes technology lends a hand. So we wanted to do our part to make sure that technology brings opportunity to everyone.

Now more than ever, Americans need digital skills to land the jobs they want, advance their careers, and grow their businesses.

Grow with Google aims to help by providing free training, tools and expertise. Since 2017, more than three million Americans have grown their businesses and careers with help from Grow with Google’s trainings and in-person workshops.

And through a network of more than 5,000 partner organizations—including local libraries, schools, and nonprofits—more people across the country have access to our free online tools and flexible programs. We believe that technology has the power to unlock new opportunities for growth. When those opportunities are available to everyone, communities across the country can achieve their full potential.

Local Business Owners can build their online presence and find new customers. Job Seekers and Students can learn the skills they need to get the jobs they want in today’s evolving economy.

Veterans and Military Families can access tools and resources designed to help with the transition to civilian life and to build meaningful careers.

Teachers can learn how to help their students get the skills they need to be prepared for today’s jobs. Developers can sharpen their current skills and master new ones. Startups can learn how to give their ideas the exposure needed to succeed.

In its first year, Google’s IT Support Professional Certificate enrolled more than 50,000 people. The Grow with Google Partner Program provides free resources that community organizations can use to teach digital skills that can help people grow their careers and businesses.

Partners receive, at no cost, program materials, training and a dedicated support team. We work with partners of all sizes from anywhere in the United States. To learn more, please visit our partner page here. Philanthropy Through Google.org, Google’s philanthropic arm, we’ve also made grants to several organizations, helping them extend their impact.

Goodwill is using a $10 million grant from Google.org to establish the Goodwill Digital Career Accelerator® (GDCA) in 126 US Goodwills. Aiming to jump-start career opportunities for 1.2 million people by 2021, the GDCA helps Goodwill respond to the digital economy, with support from Google’s tools, resources, and talent.

Read the report on the first year of impact and learnings here. 4-H, the nation’s largest youth development organization, is using a $1.5 million grant from Google.org to give students the opportunity to grow future skills through hands-on computer science activities and launch a new career pathway program. 

And USO, which supports 4.9 million service members and their families, received a $2.5 million dollar grant from Google.org to provide training and career guidance in IT support.

We hope that by making our resources available to everyone online, by bringing hands-on training into communities across the country, and by supporting organizations working to expand access to digital tools and training, we can help all Americans grow their skills, their opportunities, and their futures.
